Help MoCo Students Get Back to School
In Montgomery County, almost 55,000 students receive free & reduced-priced meals. As the beginning of the school year rapidly approaches, many of these families also struggle to afford food as well as the most basic of school supplies. Having access to items like school snacks, backpacks, pencils, pens and paper can make a great impact on a student's ability to achieve.
To help these students get ready for the school year, there are several local organizations taking the lead and providing much needed school supplies to these families. While getting ready for the new school year, consider donating money, supplies, or time to any organizations. Items in the most need includesturdy new backpacks, loose leaf paper, pencils, highlighters, markers, colored pencils, binders, pencil pouches, pens, glue sticks, and non-perishable healthy snacks. Your donation can help an area child be equipped for success this school year.

Every week of the MCPS school year, volunteers pack donated food in backpacks and deliver the backpacks to county elementary schools. Children take the backpacks home on Friday.
