New Leadership Team Builds Strength Through Diversity

Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union is proud to announce that it has brought together some of the areas leaders in the financial industry to better meet the needs of the changing Montgomery County community.  By bringing on experts in the areas of lending, risk management, retail delivery, and IT who also directly reflect the thriving ethnic diversity of Montgomery County, MAFCU is aiming to gain a concrete understanding of varying service needs across all cultural and ethnic groups within the community in order to truly create value with every relationship.

Over the past decade, there has been a dramatic shift in demographics in Montgomery County.  With only 49% of the county's population being caucasian, non-hispanic (down 10% from 2000), non-caucasians and hispanics now make up the majority of Montgomery County's growing population.  "At MAFCU, we are committed to ensuring the best service for our community.   As the diversity in Montgomery County flourishes, we feel that it is our duty as a community service provider to evolve with it.  By restructuring, and bringing on board such a diverse and talented leadership team we commit to providing our customers with innovative banking services that meet the needs of all of our Montgomery County neighbors," states MAFCU President, CEO, and Venezuelan-American Andrew P. Russell.

To further enhance the banking experience for their customers, MAFCU's new management team will be launching Give Back Banking, new state of the art consumer and commercial accounts, as well as micro and small business account lending programs to meet its customers needs, According to MAFCU's Executive Vice President and Chief Operations & Administration Officer, Timothy C. Hampton, "The Leadership team at MAFCU represents Montgomery County and our community. When it comes to diversity and inclusion in meeting our member's financial needs and goals, our team has helped businesses and members along with businesses employees understand their financial challenges in today's economy.  We have redesigned our products to give our members choices and how they bank to meet their financial life style."  Program enhancements are currently being deployed.
