Upcoming Board of Directors Election
Upcoming Board of Directors Election Information- the Annual Election will take place during our Annual Meeting on July 24, 2013, at 6 p.m. in the Community Room at Mid-Atlantic FCU's Headquarters, 12820 Wisteria Drive, Germantown, Maryland, 20874.
The slate of candidates is listed below. Nominations may also be made by a petition signed by 20 members or 1% of the membership, whichever is greater. Petition must be filed with the secretary of the board at the above mentioned address by June 14.
The election will not be conducted by ballot and there will be no nominations from the floor when the number of nominees equals the number of positions to be filled.
Robert G. Roop has served on the Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union Board of Directors since January 2005 and previously on the credit union's Supervisory Committee since April of 1998. He currently serves as the Chairman of both the Board and the Executive Committee. During his tenure he has also been a member of the Management Committee and held the position of Board Treasurer. He is currently employed by E.R Williams as the VP of Human Resources. He holds a Master's of Arts degree in Community Counseling Psychology from Towson State University, Towson, MD; and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Roanoke College, Salem, VA. He is certified as a Senior Human Resource Professional (SPHR) by the Society of Human Resource Management, Alexandria, VA.
M. Elliot Margolis has served on the Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union Board of Directors since March 1976 and was Chairman of the Board for 32 of those 37 years. He currently holds the position of Vice Chairman of the Board chairs the MAFCU Management Committee and Supervisory Committee and serves on the Executive Committee. Mr. Margolis is currently retired from full time employment with over 45 years of Program Management, Senior Staff and Development Engineering experience with Lockheed Martin Corporation/Loral Corporation/IBM. His positions have included Senior Program Management, Engineering and Development Management, Program Consultation, and Corporate/Company Staff roles.
Carol D. Rieg has served on the Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union Board of Directors since February 2008. She currently serves on the ALCO and Management Committees. Previous to her Board appointment she served on the MAFCU Supervisory Committee since October 2007 and as a Board Member of the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce. She has been a resident of Montgomery County for 30 years and is currently employed as the Corporate Foundation Officer for Bentley Systems, Inc. Her past experience includes running a successful public relations firm, Rieg & Associates as well as past employment as a senior in-charge auditor with Coopers & Lybrand. Her expertise primarily deals with finance, marketing and engineering education outreach.
Diann Stein has served as a Board member since November 2012 fulfilling the seat previously held by Charles Thomas. In addition, she has served as a member and Chair of the Supervisory Committee since 2009 until her appointment to the Board. She is currently employed at KPMG LLC as an Account Relationship Director responsible for the Fannie Mae account which is one of the top 5 local accounts of the firm. Previously, she was an independent management consultant for 4 years and has also worked at several technology companies such as EMC, Sybase, and IBM responsible for consulting services. She has extensive experience with management, understanding the financial services industry, and aligning technology to business strategy.
