MAFCU COVID-19 Updates


The health and safety of Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union (MAFCU) members and employees continues to be our top priority. As we continue to monitor the impact of Corona virus in our region, please be assured we are actively taking steps to assist our members.

As businesses continue to slowly reopen, please understand that our branches are still open on an appointment-only basis.

Temperature check will be administered upon entry using a no-contact thermometer. If your temperature taken is higher than 100.4F*, you will not be permitted to enter.

If you are experiencing any other COVID-19 symptoms*,please do not enter:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Always remember:

  1. Practice social distancing (6 feet distance).
  2. Cover your mouth and nose if you sneeze or cough.
  3. By proceeding you are consenting to the above requirements.

Effective immediately, you will be directed to use our ATMs and drive-thru (where accessible) upon visiting our branches. Branch lobbies will be limited to appointments only for kiosks use, mortgage closings, and notary services.

These include:

  • Hand sanitizer dispensers are being placed in all branch locations to the extent possible
  • We have proactively increased the frequency of our cleaning by wiping counters, machines and stations throughout the day.


  • Use our free Mobile Appto learn about mobile banking and Online Services, MAFCU’s online banking system, to manage your accounts 24/7 without having to visit a branch. With Online Services, you can share access to accounts, receive and pay bills, check account balances and deposit checks. (First time user? Call us at 301-944-1800)

  • Be aware that scammers take advantage of crisis situations. If you believe that you are being targeted by a scammer, please contact a member services representative at 301-944-1800 or 800-956-2328.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
